Our Task

Being Benedictine monks we follow the rule of St.Benedict of Nursia (6th century AD), which is often summarized by the words "Ora et labora et lege" - "Pray and work and read". Each day receives its rhythm from the times of prayer in the morning, midday, evening and at the beginning of the night. From the peace experienced in prayer and from hearing the Good News of the Gospel we get the strength to do our work.

Belonging to the congregation of the Missionary Benedictines means a special obligation to the young churches and to the solidarity among all Christians on earth. In working in different trades, in educational and pastoral work we try to fulfil this obligation. We also understand our work as a commitment to the economical development of Tanzania, so that all humans can live in dignity.
