21st March Br. Mukasa Mgimba new subprior

The office of subprior was vacant since January 1st, when Pd. Fidelis Mligo was appointed Prior of Peramiho Abbey.
Bro Mukasa is Headmaster of our Vocational Training College and Head of our Installation Department.
We thank Bro Mukasa for accepting the new office and wish him all the best and God's blessing.

20th Feb. P. Benno Schneider died

Pd. Benno was born December 26th 1925. His first vows he made in 1949, since 1954 Priesthood, since 1956 Missionary in Peramiho.
Pd. Benno was a profound pastoral worker in all his Parishes he was assigned to. He was honored by all the Priest of the Archdiocese of Songea.
Many of our Priest of the Abbey went as Chaplains through his school.

1st Jan. Fr. Fidelis Mligo appointed prior

After Fr. Lucius Marquardt had resigned from the office of prior, which he had held since 1990, being now 78 years old on December 31st, Abbot Anastasius appointed Fr. Fidelis Mligo as his successor on New Year's Day. Fr.Fidelis comes from Njombe diocese, which means from the northern part of our former missionary area. He is 38 years old, his first monastic profession took place in 1996. The office of a prior means being deputy to the abbot. Fr.Fidelis is the first African monk to hold this office at Peramiho.
