Location and accessibility

	Peramiho Mission is located in the Ruvuma Region, southwest Tanzania, Songea district, and 25km away from the town Songea itself. The route Peramiho/Songea up to Dar es salam about 1100 km, is a tarmac road and generally in good condition. Public and private transportation facilities are frequent and provide an easy access to Peramiho. The Ruvuma region has an area of 64, 761 sqkm and its population is about 1 mill. inhabitants. The main tribes are: Wangoni, Wamatengo, Wandendeule, Wanyasa and Wayao. The main religions in the area are Christianity and Islam. We enjoy a peaceful co-operation between these two religions. The main cash crops in the area are: coffee, maize, tobacco, beans, cashew nuts, rice and wheat. The staple food in the area is: Maize, cassava, beans, wheat, rice and some millet.
