Chuo cha Ufundi

Tangu mwanzoni kabisa kwa misheni wamonaki na masista wa Peramiho walijitahidi sana kuwafundisha wazalendo kwa ufundi. Mnamo mwaka 1928 chuo cha ufundi kimefuguliwa rasmi.

Kama wanafunzi 90 wa kike na wa ume walijiunga na chuo cha ufundi, ambacho ni shule ya bweni. Wanasoma ufundi gari, ufundi turner, ufundi bomba, uchapishaji, bookbinding, useremala, ufundi umeme na ufundi kushona. Baadhi yao wanajiunga mara baada ya kumaliza shule ya msingi, wengine walishamaliza kidato cha nne. Wanakaa kwetu kwa muda wa miaka minne, wakilipa shilingi 170,000 kila mwaka.

Mwaka 2006 tulianzisha darasa ya kompyuta. Tulipata zawadi ya kompyuta 20 kutoka wakubwa wa mashirika ya watawa Wajerumani, tukazinunua kompyuta hizo huko Dar es-Salaam. Kila mchana baada ya kumaliza darasa za wanafunzi, tunatoa semina kwa ajili ya watu wazima wanaotaka kujua siri za kompyuta.

Vocational Training Centre

From the very beginning the monks and sisters of Peramiho mission put much effort in the training of local craftsmen. Since 1928 the vocational educational training has been centralised in the Trade School.

The Trade School - a boarding school - is attended by 90 boys and girls who are being trained as mechanics, turners, plumbers, printers, bookbinders, joiners, electricians and tailors. Some of them come directly after completing the seven years of primary school, others also got four years of secondary school, too. They stay at our school for four years before sitting the examinations under control of the state. Per year each students has to pay 170.000 Tanzanian Shilling, which is 100 €.

Since 2006 we also have a computer class. 20 computers, sponsored by the superiors of the German religious orders, could be bought in Dar es-Salaam. Even Africa is now adapting this technology. Only those who know its secrets will be well prepared for their professional career. After school the computer room is used for adults interested in skill enhancement.
